Marcelino Rivera, MD
Marcelino E. Rivera, MD is an Assistant Professor of Urology at Indiana University School of Medicine, Director of the Endourology Fellowship at Indiana University Health in Indianapolis and the Chief of Urology at the Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Hospital. He earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine in 2011, completed urology residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester in 2016, and completed the endourology/ESWL fellowship at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis in 2017 .
Dr. Rivera specializes in minimally invasive surgical management of kidney stones—such as percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL)—and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) treatment, including holmium laser enucleation of the prostate (HoLEP). He is an active researcher focused on renal stone formation, novel BPH therapies, and training models for surgical skill development. His clinical interests also include metabolic stone disease evaluation and surgical management of BPH.
