Benjamin Schurhamer, MD

Dr. Benjamin Schurhamer is an Assistant Professor of Urology at the University of Pennsylvania specializing in urologic oncology. He completed his fellowship at Penn, where he developed expertise in focal therapy, advanced imaging, and molecular biomarkers for prostate cancer. Dr. Schurhamer earned his medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) before pursuing residency and fellowship training in urology. His research focuses on MRI-occult prostate cancer, Decipher-derived immune signatures, and novel focal therapies such as pulsed electrical field ablation. He also leads digital health and patient education initiatives at Penn Medicine, integrating AI, remote monitoring, and precision care pathways to improve outcomes for men with prostate cancer.
